Comedy in Brisbane

30 things on

Comedy here is a small, all-ticketed circuit run out of a few inner-city rooms. The Brisbane Powerhouse at New Farm hosts the largest share, the Princess Theatre at Woolloongabba comes next, and the Tivoli and Fortitude Music Hall in the Valley pick up the rest. That keeps the whole scene inside a tight ring of suburbs — New Farm, Fortitude Valley and Woolloongabba — so a night out for a laugh means heading to one of those rooms, with no dedicated comedy club carrying the bill. Dates land across the week, with Wednesday the single busiest night and a cluster on the weekend. Nothing on this list is free; the ticket price sits on each event.

To reach the rooms without a car: the Powerhouse is a CityCat ride to the New Farm Park or Sydney Street terminal, the Princess is a short walk from the Mater Hill and Buranda busway stops, and the Valley rooms are a short walk from Fortitude Valley station.
