Queensland Museum

8 things on

Queensland Museum stands at the corner of Grey and Melbourne Streets in South Brisbane, part of the South Bank cultural precinct. The events on our calendar are mostly hands-on workshops, along with programs for kids and science sessions on animals and the natural world. These are paid sessions, running from roughly $8 to $90 depending on the program. It’s open daily, and there’s something on most days across the week.

Worth knowing: general entry to the museum itself is free, and it’s the special exhibitions and the ticketed workshops that carry a fee. Getting there is easy without a car. South Brisbane train station and the Cultural Centre Busway station are both within walking distance, and the South Bank CityCat and ferry terminals are close by too. If you drive, the Queensland Cultural Centre car park (P2) sits under the museum, reached from Stanley Place, with a two-metre height limit at the entry.
