The Gallery of Modern Art sits on Stanley Place in South Brisbane, and film is what sets it apart from the other galleries nearby. GOMA runs its own cinema, so screenings make up most of what’s on our calendar, well ahead of art exhibitions, hands-on workshops, guided tours and programs built for kids. It’s open daily and there’s something on most days, midweek as much as the weekend. Only a small share is free, and many of the screenings and special exhibitions are ticketed while some sessions cost nothing. Most programs don’t carry a price in our data, so check the gallery’s own page for the one you want.

Getting there is easy without a car. GOMA sits beside the Cultural Centre Busway station, a short walk from South Brisbane train station and the South Bank CityCat and ferry terminal. If you drive, the car parks under the Queensland Art Gallery and the State Library are reached from Stanley Place. Both galleries are wheelchair accessible from the street-level entrance on Stanley Place, between the two buildings.
