The Museum of Brisbane is the odd one out in this group: it’s up in Brisbane City Hall on King George Square, not down at South Bank. Art shows make up the biggest share of what’s on our calendar, followed by guided tours, which include the climb up the City Hall clock tower and the dome, with kids’ programs, music and theatre filling out the rest. Most of it is free, and the few paid tours and workshops run from about $5 to $49. There’s something on most days, with a slight lean towards the weekend.

City Hall is a ten-minute walk from Central and Roma Street stations, and buses stop along Adelaide and Ann Streets and at the King George Square and Queen Street terminals. There’s paid undercover parking in the King George Square car park, with entrances on Adelaide and Roma Streets. The museum is on level three: enter through the King George Square foyer and take the lifts up, as there’s no stair access.
