What’s on in Woolloongabba

Woolloongabba’s listings are, in practice, one address: the Princess Theatre, a restored 1888 theatre at 8 Annerley Road. Nearly everything on here happens inside it. The bill is mostly live music, with comedy nights, club sessions and the odd stage show in the mix. This isn’t a suburb for free days out — almost everything is ticketed — so check the price on each listing before you plan a night around it.

There’s no train station in Woolloongabba itself. Buses run along Logan Road and Stanley Street, and the Mater Hill and Buranda busway stations are the closest high-frequency stops, each a short walk from the theatre. Cross River Rail is building a new station in the suburb, so it’s worth checking Translink for the latest on roadworks and detours before you set out. The Princess sits on Annerley Road, close to the busway and a straight run from the city by bus.
