Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha

9 things on · 8 free

Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha, at 152 Mt Coot-tha Road in Toowong, is the city’s main botanic gardens, and the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium shares the grounds. Nature programs make up most of what’s on our calendar, with guided walks, kids’ activities and community events alongside them. There’s something on most days, and most of it is free; a couple of the paid sessions sit in the $12 to $30 range. The gardens open seven days a week, 8am to 6pm from September to March and 8am to 5pm from April to August.

This is an outer site, so plan to drive. There’s free parking in the car park at the main entry off Mt Coot-tha Road, with more across the road at the Ada Street car park and wheelchair-accessible bays available. Public transport is limited: the nearest bus stops are a short distance from the gardens, while Toowong station is around a forty-minute walk, so a car is the easier option for most.
