Sunnybank Hills Library
SeeBNE/Suburbs/Sunnybank Hills
Everything on in Sunnybank Hills happens in one place: the local library, inside Sunnybank Hills Shoppingtown on Compton Road. One venue, and every listing free. Monday is the busiest day of the week here — more sessions land then than on any other — so it’s worth building a visit around the start of the week. The program leans grown-up, split fairly evenly between adults and seniors, with workshops, community get-togethers and a smaller run of kids’ activities, plus the occasional music or art session. It’s a neat, self-contained calendar on Brisbane’s multicultural south side, run entirely from a library inside a shopping centre.
There’s no train close by: the nearest stations are a drive away at Altandi, on the Beenleigh line. Buses are the practical way in — several run along Compton Road to the Shoppingtown — and there’s plenty of centre parking if you drive. Come on a Monday for the fullest choice, then stay for the shops.
