Dementia sharing circle
Coopers Plains Library
Coopers Plains keeps a quiet, local calendar, and most of it is pitched at older residents. All but one of the listings run out of Coopers Plains Library on Orange Grove Road — a dementia sharing circle, a writers’ group, a southside craft circle, an English conversation group, Be Connected webinars on spotting scams and guarding your details online, an evening book club — with a smaller run of toddler storytime and a couple of make-and-create afternoons for kids. Community sessions lead, then things for families, and the whole program is free. Seniors are the core audience, adults next. Thursday is the busiest day of the week, so it’s the one to build a visit around. The single outlier is a Tai Chi Qigong class at St David’s Neighbourhood Centre, just along the same road.
Coopers Plains sits on the Beenleigh line, and the station is a walk from the library; buses run along Orange Grove and Boundary Roads.
